INCIDENT.

ORIGIN late Middle English: via Old French from Latin incident – ‘falling upon, happening to,’ from the verb incidere.

I am a storyteller.

In the beginning, there were stories told around fires and in the future, when there may be no Internet and no way to communicate, there will still be stories.

Ira Glass said, “Great stories happen to those who can tell them.” And like Alice down the rabbit hole, and Dorothy on her way to Oz, my life has been filled with incidents that are the making of great stories. And, I love to tell them.

From working for the mob when I was six, to battling and beating ten rounds of cancers, to co-authoring a best-selling business book translated into four languages, I have some good stories to tell. And I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of readers out there who will find them entertaining. You may be one of them.

I grew up in Toronto, Canada in the 1950s and pursued an executive business career, where I banged my head against the glass ceiling while I travelled many continents, and met and worked with some of the most interesting and famous people of our times. My adventures run the spectrum from turning down a hot night with a movie star to being turned down by a gigolo! Ha!

So, join me as I relive my life rich with incident. Enjoy these stories—they may inspire a few of your own memories—and laugh out loud with me, maybe scratch your head at the curiousness of human behaviour, and let me know what you think.
